Boostrand website: how we handle your data
This page covers boostrand.com. It tells you what the site collects, why, who else receives it, and what is stored in your browser.
Questions about your data: [email protected]. Effective date: 7 November 2026.
Visiting the site
- Visit statistics: we use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to count visits and see which pages and courses interest readers. Google sets its own cookies (such as _ga) for this.
- How pages are used: we use UXsniff, a tool that records how visitors use pages (heatmaps and session recordings). It can record any page of the site. Recordings are kept for 30 days.
- Security: the site is served through Cloudflare, which sees the IP address of every visitor and may set security cookies such as __cf_bm to tell visitors from bots.
Your cookie choices
Visitors in Europe (the EU, the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, recognised by the time zone of their browser) see a cookie banner. Google Analytics and UXsniff (Statistics) run only after you accept them, and the YouTube subscribe button (Marketing) only after you accept Marketing. You can accept all, reject all, or choose each category. Your choice is kept for 6 months in the bs_consent cookie.
You can change your choice at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. When you switch a category off, the page reloads and the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
Buying a course
- You pay on courses.boostrand.com (run by OnlineCourseHost), where PayPal is available, or by card through Gumroad. We never see or store your card number or your PayPal login. The payment provider handles them under its own policy.
- Courses are delivered by OnlineCourseHost. Your name and email are used there to create your student account and to send your login.
- The course buttons on this site send you to the checkout. Prices and coupon codes come from your visit cookie (see Cookies below).
- From an order, we see your name, email, country and the amount paid in the OnlineCourseHost, PayPal and Gumroad dashboards. We keep these details for as long as your student account is active.
Contact forms
If you use the contact form on boostrand.com (WPForms), you give your name, your email and your message. They are sent to us by email and are not stored in the website’s database. The contact form on courses.boostrand.com is run by OnlineCourseHost and also reaches us by email.
Free tools and quizzes
- Calcpad tools: when you ask for a PDF report, your email address (and your name, if the tool asks for it) is sent to this website and saved in our lead list together with the name of the tool, the website it came from, the time, your IP address and your browser details. The form tells you that you will receive the PDF report and lets you choose to receive emails. Asking for a report does not add you to our newsletter.
- Quizzes: when you finish a quiz you give your name and email. We save them with your score in our lead list. If you tick the box, we also save that you agreed to receive emails, which wording you saw and when.
- Quiz results table: the quiz plugin (Quiz Maker) also keeps its own results table. For every quiz attempt it stores your name, your email, your score and your IP address, with the time and how long you took.
- Newsletter: we send our emails with SendFox. People from the Calcpad tools and the quizzes are added to SendFox by hand, from a file exported from our lead list, and only if they agreed to receive emails. Nothing is sent from those tools to SendFox automatically.
- Coding section: the footer of the coding articles has a sign-up form that sends your email to Mailchimp.
- Unsubscribe: you can unsubscribe at any time with the link in every email.
Comments
Comments on articles use Disqus. The comment box is loaded from Disqus, and Disqus handles your comment, name, email, IP address and cookies under its own privacy policy.
Cookies and browser storage
- new_visitor (cookie, 300 days): the time of your first visit. It decides whether you see the new-visitor price or a sale price.
- udemy_referral (cookie, 5 days): set only if you arrive through a link that carries source=udemy. It keeps the course links on the site pointing to the Udemy versions.
- bs_consent (cookie, 6 months): your cookie choices, see Your cookie choices.
- boostrandTheme (browser storage, no expiry): your light or dark mode choice.
- bcRtDismissed (browser session storage, until you close the tab): remembers that you closed the related-course bar on an article.
- Cloudflare cookies such as __cf_bm: security, see Visiting the site.
- Disqus cookies: see Comments.
- Cookies of other services: Google Analytics / Tag Manager, UXsniff and the embedded services below set their own cookies when they run.
Other services on the site
Some pages embed content from other companies, such as YouTube videos, the YouTube subscribe button and AddToAny share buttons. Those companies may set their own cookies when the content loads. Links to courses.boostrand.com, Gumroad, PayPal and SendFox take you to their sites, with their own policies.
How long we keep your data, and your rights
- Order details: for as long as your student account is active.
- UXsniff recordings: 30 days.
- Contact messages: in our mailbox only, not on the website.
- Lead list and quiz results: until you ask us to delete them.
